Did somthing really Freaken stupid... Jumped car but mixed +&- (It was Dark, But go ahead and laugh)
Wires from the jumper cables started to smoke.. Didn't notice for around 6 seconds.
Then 'My battery is dead dead.
Bought new battery
Still wont charge battery.
Only guess is alternator blew.
Now Driverside window goes down when turning over car.
Battery Warning light stays on, when car is running, while reving engine and driving it.
(Didnt drive it for too long because i didnt want to become stranded some where.)

Other then that Everything works.

Nothing happened to car (camaro) that was jumping me.

So should i sink the money into buying a new alternator. or what. I don't see any other possibility do you?

When the car is off, does the battery light remain on? Was the engine running while you had the cables mixed up?

If so, then the voltage regulator and/or the rectifier diodes inside the alternator are shot. The regulator can be replaced fairly easily. If the diodes are blown, you'd be best off finding a rebuilt alternator. I found a shop around here that took my blown alternator & gave me a rebuilt one for $110.

both cars were off at the time of the mix up on the terminals. Battery light is on when turning the key, starting the car and while car is running. when key is out of the ignition the battery light is off.

Note: that the connection was made from Camaro battery to Bmw Terminals under the hood. Because the battery is in the trunk. I do not know if this makes a diffrence..

My first thought would be the voltage regulator then. That is probably the most "fragile" part in the system, and would explain why your battery does not charge. $20-40 depending on brand.

Okay so I'm just going to go and buy an new alternator. Duralast alternator with a life time warranty (the reason being Bosh only covers 12month and its twice the price.)

Plus I need a higher voltage alt because I'm planing on installing a system. and I Already have 2 new motorized seats installed. and the old alternator caused head lights to flicker (I'm guessing it was the alternator).
