So my car has recently started overheating rather badly. I can bleed the coolant and then run for awhile, and then it starts to go again. Just about positive the turbo is pushing combustion gases into the cooling system past my 250k mile original head gasket.
I have an MLS gasket for the car, but due to roughness requirements and overall issues that I've seen online, I'm not terribly keen on using it. I will probably just use a factory one, but turns out that the M42 has some different options. Looking on Pelican reveals that there was a changeover in 8/92 and again in 12/93. 318ti's apparently have a different gasket as well. M44 gaskets were never updated, but theoretically will fit an M42 as well, unless the bore is significantly different.
Do any of you happen to know what the actual differences are between these gaskets? I'd assume if the updated gaskets fit, that it might behoove me to go that route...
