WTB: Vinyl Sport Seat Bolster
« on: April 10, 2011, 10:06:48 AM »
I know this is a real long shot, but a dog ate the driver's seat door side upper bolster on my sport seat.  All I need is that bolster or even just the vinyl skin.  The only place I've seen these is on the 318's.  Anyone have a trashed seat with a good bolster?

Thanks,
Noel

Dang, hope the dog is OK.  Though I'd be some kind of mad about sport seat bolsters.  Especially the driver's side; it gets the most wear of any part on those seats.

You can swap the backs from passenger to driver's side.  The bottoms are different though.  The sport seats were standard on most any e30 iS version.  Vinyl was the most popular IIRC, though fabric & leather were also options.  You can tell them apart instantly as the leather isn't perforated.

Thanks Dave,  Yeah, I think the best I can hope for is a trashed passenger seat that the left bolster somehow survived.  Not much hope, I know.

Every passenger seat I've seen has a good left bolster here...and a good number have a decent right side too.  It's the lower bolster that's the rare bit from what I've seen.  Are you from the left-hand drive part of the world or the right-hand part?

Washington State.  The rest of the seat is in great condition.  If I could just get that one piece, I'd be set.  I might try Kevin at Creative Options and have him make one up for me.  I found a good foam piece over the weekend.  Now just need the vinyl.

Thanks -- Noel

Noel,

I am in the Seattle area, and may have exactly what you need.  The driver seat is trashed EXCEPT for the door side (left) upper bolster, which has been replaced in black vinyl.  That part of the seat is in near mint condition...

PM if interested...
