Hey guys,

I am rebulding my top end and last time, one of the studs on the headers that connects to the exhaust had to be cut. This time, another was lost. I ordered new studs from BMW, 11621728372, paid $6 each and they need to be welded. I thought I would have someone tack-weld them but decided to use a bolt instead. I found the same size bolt, still made of stainless steel. It is metric, M10, just like OEM. It is just a little longer, and has 17mm head. I have 2 OEM studs or 4 of these bolts for sale. They fit perfect with the copper OEM nuts. I paid $1.25 per bolt but had to order a minimum amount. So I have a full set for someone who is interested.

So either $11 for the 2 OEM including shipping or or $6 for the set of 4 including shipping. I really have no use for them and know that these bolts can be hard to find locally. Took me 2 days to track them down locally.

If it's that critical.  Then why not just put a threaded stud in it's place and use nuts, then one of the two has to brake loose next time?  GL

You can get a threaded stud also. You just need to source it and make sure you get a metal grade to withstand lots of heat. Instead of using a stud with 2 nuts, I with with bolt and stock copper nut. Many ways to skin can. The issue is to use the stock stock that needs to be welded. It is for those that want to keep it OEM as they do break. I was going to have it welded but didnt have anyone short notice without paying a shop to do it. I want to get a welder but no funds now.
