super nice car, wish i could keep it.  so much work in this thing, just trying to get payed back what we got stuck with. customer bailed, had to lien the car.  have title, good to go. heres the Description i have in the local CL.

What we have here is a very nice hard to fine 1991 BMW 318ic. Car has 149k original miles with functional odometer. I've gone over every bit of this car mechanically and got it working awesome.  We just installed a 80k mi engine from a 98 bmw 318i which runs super smooth without a single tick or hickup.  This was not done because the old one was neglected or poorly maintained.  The previous owner hit a large dip going a little too fast and was not aware she had damaged the oil pan and lost all her oil and continued to drive until a rod knock developed and became obvious there was a problem.  Other than that the the car has been super well maintained. Along the way, any questionable hose, belt, sensor, or anything else that should or could use replacing was done. Suspension in smooth and quiet. Brakes are good with plenty of material left.  Tires were recently replaced with about 80% all the way around.  Top is in great shape and the rear window is clear and flexible so plenty of miles left without worrying about that.  This car doesn't leak a single drop of anything nor should it for quite some time with all the attention and recent maintenance These are getting hard to find in this condition, dont pass this one up if its on your wish list.  

list of new parts professionally installed:

used 80k m44 engine in great shape.  185psi in all four cyl.
new valve cover gasket
oil pan gasket/s
timing cover gaskets
water pump
thermostat/housing
belts
many hoses and coolant fittings/pipes etc.
fresh motul synthetic oil
motor mounts
trans mounts
spark plugs
intake manifold gaskets
exhaust manifold gaskets
drive shaft center support bearing
drive shaft guibo/flex disc coupler

The bad:

a few very minor door dings and two dents(still very minor)
rear seats are dried out and starting to come apart (very slightly) at the top/headrest area
peace sign insignia on rear deck lid.

asking $4197 obo


Car can be seen at DTM any day mon-fri 8-5 or possibly another time by appointment.

Wow.  That is clean.  Good price too.

That really looks like an M42...you swapped the cam cover & intake manifold to fit it in the e30?

yes, swapped pretty much all the pheripherals to make it work with the m42 engine management.  m44 is obd2 and most have ews so this is simpler than making that stuff work right in an e30.
