Oil Pan removal....easiest way???
« on: February 16, 2011, 09:19:21 PM »
Hey guys... newbie here... I just bought a 97 318is.  I have an electrical draw and a cracked oil pan.  I have not even seen this car run yet and cannot diagnose my electrical problem untill i can keep some oil in it.

I have taken a look at the oil pan and have come to realize that the motor is going to have to come up or the subframe and Rack is going to have to come down.

I am asking for any tips or advice that would make this easier. Any advice and tips would be appreciated.

Thanks guys

JB Weld it back together with some scrap alu, then a new pan after you tracked down the electrical problem.  No need to waste a new pan on a motor that might be defunct.
