That depends on how much you want to lower your car. I'm running the 50404-55 which is OE Sport for the 325i/is but what I believe you will get as sport for the 318is with Bilstein T/C and I like it for a street setup. The roads around here are not so good so lower and stiffer setup would not be ideal.

This will give you about .5 in drop all around if you want a solution that will lower your car more than that then you should probably with the 29664 which were designed for the early 318i wich was a lighter car.

Go with the race.. wish I had. The spring rates on the sport are just too soft in my opinion.

I have OE's on my car, but never figured out how to get the pics small enough to post.  If you know how I can snap a few this weekend

Just got off the phone with H&R......The spring set to have is the 29964. This is a little softer in the rear but overall the same rates as the 50404-55 and will sit lower on our E30 318is. It's actually only listed for one application and that is the 84-85 E30 318i. If you happen to find an E30M3 that is changing suspensions then look for 3/1 HA for the rears and 3/1 VA with a white paint mark after it on the fronts. It is the 29664 Kit.

The race springs 50404-88 rates are 315 Front and 570 Rear.

I know I have seen someone post the 29664 is the way to go so whoever that was .....you were right:-)

HTH....

Cheers,
~Ralph

Ok. Just swapped out the 50404-55's for the 29664's. There was a minimal drop of 10mm. So they are very close in height but the 29664's are slightly softer according to H&R.

Cheers,
~Ralph

Considering these springs(29964) for my street/sport 318is.., How do you like them so far?
  Thanks,

Stan, I haven't put any miles on the 318is with them BUT they are identical to the M3's sport set up and I have a lot of miles on that car. I like them. Not too stiff and yet way better than the stock set up.

Anyone else have an opinion on this? My 91 318is came with 50406's that I need to replace so I'm not sure which one to go with - all will fit - 29964 , 50404, 50406

Any one with pics?
