Well I have a 318is e30 and everytime I started up it takes about 3 :cool:to 5 seconds to start. It will do this when it's a warm engine as well. What do you guys think it can be?

Could be something as simple as a tune up. Does the car idle fine once started, does it run good

The car idles flawlessly and runs really smooth but thats my only concern sometimes it will start instantly and other times it will take 3 to 5 seconds jus to start

Does the starting longer have anything to do with how long it sits?  I had an s52 that wouldn't start after sitting 30min-3hrs but after say 6 hours it would start right up.  It ended up being a band fuel pressure regulator. It was leaking into the intake and ending up very rich but if it sat all night or day the fuel would evap and start fine.

yeah it would take a bit longer to start after i shut off and let it sit for an hour or two. like it it happens whenever the engine is warm or cold but mostly when the engine is warmed. sometimes it will start on a dime and others will take longer.
