Hello from Australia
« on: September 17, 2006, 06:04:33 AM »
G,day guys, I am a new m42 enthusiast from Newcastle, Australia. I have recently aquired a 1990 318is with only 174000 kms on the clock and excellent BMW service history, so you can imagine the engine is very healthy. Does anyone know if there is a head gasket out there to drop the c/r closer to 9.0:1 off the shelf? I am going to change the pistons in the future but why rebuild such a good thing when it aint broken i say.
Great to see so many people into these engines. Regards, Ben:)

This is the plce for the M42.  Give it minute and you will have all the answers.  Personally, I just break stuff and the other M42 heads here tell me how to fix it.  Enjoy the group!

hi guys, regards to why i want to turbo the car is simple. The driving experience. I like the balance of the car but is underpowered.s14 m3 engines are too expensive and  n/a dosent really do it for me as my other car may be going to fund the whole thing(it is a turbo car). As for application, dropping the c/r to a more boost freindly level.
