Bumper trim removal?

OK, before I break another trim piece, how do I remove the black bumper trim?

I am replacing the pieces that contain the running lights with the euro non running light trim.  I think the whole bumper trim needs to come off first but I cannot figure that out yet.

Take the bumper off (two bolts and unplug the lights) and pop the trim off from the back. Little black tabs on the upper and lower sides of the trim hold it in the bumper.

I could not, for the life of me, remove the trim without breaking the tabs... I'm a friggin klutz...

the bumpers are held on by a pair of torx t-55 bolts, hello PB blaster!

putting the bumper back on is sorta a two person job, btw... it's hard to get it to slide on straight by yourself.

i found it quite easy to do, but i'v done it about 20 times in the past motnh so i'm getting good at it:)

oh and removing the bumper wont really help you, as the plastic part of the bumper is held on to the inner core by these expandable pins that are hidden beneath the trim. it shouldn't be that hard to remove the bumper trim tho, go buy a set of hmm they kinda look like screwdrivers but they have picks ont he end instead of bits, and just be gentle and you should be able to undo it all fairly easy.

Since I had my bumper off when I did the swap to the Euro trim, I just came from the back side and popped each of the retaining clips off with a flat-blade screwdriver. Took maybe ten minutes for the front bumper (off and new on). You can easily reach each of those plastic clips with the bumper off.

Found something similar and it worked.  The rear trim has one little " locking snap " which snapped but al is well.  When I had the trim off I decided that down the road that body trim is going to be painted to match the car.  

If anyone needs the old trim it is still usable.  You can have it for free.
