Engine is from a 91 E30 318is.
Here’s the low down:
The Good:
Car has been owned by BMWCCA members. Motor runs well once warmed up and has a Mark D 93 Octane chip. The engine eagerly runs to the redline with no drama. Just replaced the valve cover gasket and the chain and sprocket look ok. The timing system could be changed but the sprocket teeth where not super sharp and the chain was in good shape. The vacuum lines are original and need to be replaced. I have a bunch of hose that comes with the motor, just never got a chance to do the work. The cooling system has new heater hose. The oil pump has been run through and the problematic bolts that can block oil in the pan has locktite applied to them.
Have an extra intake manifold, fuel injectors, misc gaskets and oil filters.
The Bad
Mileage has about ~220K (Odometer is broken).
Upper oil pan has a crack. I have sourced a good replacement locally for $40
Summary:
I’m looking to make some room in the garage for a M50 swap so I’d like to sell the power train as a package (Motor and Transmission).
I also have the 4.10 LSD diff, drive shaft and harness.
$200 for the whole lot. You can come hear (Central NJ) it run before I pull the motor.
