Blower motor housing flaps?
« on: July 20, 2010, 09:57:54 AM »
I was taking out the blower motor and housing to change the wiper motor and after getting the blower motor out I also needed to remove the housing. While trying to pull the housing I managed to break the two flaps on either side of the housing. My question is, what the hell are they and what do they do? I'm going to try to epoxy the flaps back onto the housing. Thanks in advance.

I know this is like a month old, but those are the fresh air vents.  There are two little servos that close them off when you hit the recirc button.  I broke a tab or two myself getting them out of an old parts car.

I have spares too (what are the chances?:D), I'm not sure that plastic will take epoxy well...or you could catch up with me on the road...I'll be out in Lancaster & Scranton early September, likely from the 7th to the 9th.
