I like the car from the outside.
In my opinion, the car needs to be updated from the inside, to fit more being a racecar.
But for sure, its a matter of money, and specially time to build something big up.

I am also in Brisbane. I just bought a red 1990 318is. Just wondering who you got the BC Racing coilovers from and how you came it those spring rates? Mine will be a road car only though (race car is an MX5). Also, how much guard rolling was required to fit 0 offset? Nice shot at Cootha Classic BTW....this year or last?

thats the link to the coilovers, i got 8/10 because i spoke to simon at rx automotive. the bc racing coilovers are great for track/road use. u can change the damper so its nice and soft or really firm. the tyres are 225/50 r15. there was a fair bit of rolling/hammer use to get them to fit.

i bought the flywheel through bmp design. its actually a aasco motorsport flywheel. made a massive difference.

DUDE!  I have been told time and time again that there was no aluminum flywheel for the M42.  That is the same price I paid for the one in my last 325 so it is perfect!

Getting to tech on it;  I'm assuming a direct bolt in (this is not an M20 flywheel conversion)?  Also, just how bad did the vibes at idle get?  I know the M42 is a very buzzy motor, but after I put all the sound deadening in, I'm not too worried about that.

it is a direct fit. but you need to change your clutch so it has a sprung clutch disc, if you dont, it will be similar to a button clutch. i went to a clutch specialist and got him to set one up for me. its an exedy heavy duty peasure plate and organic clutch disc. as for the idle it isnt to bad when the engine warms up. but having a light weight flywheel makes the engine alot easier to stall. apart from that there arnt many cons.

Put E36 gearbox in it and it will not stall
