Power Steering Pump to Rack Hose
« on: June 28, 2010, 05:37:00 PM »
I have a leak in my Power Steering Pump to Rack Hose on my '91 318i sedan. It is in the actual rubber hose not in the banjo bolts or any metal parts.

Can I just replaced the rubber? because the whole hose is over $200. Here is the link to the part on Pelican: click here

or is there a less expensive aftermarket option?

thanks in advanced

They're all the same, any e30 hose will work.  I'll bet you could make an e36 hose work too.

Otherwise you'll have to replace the ferrule and crimp a new hose onto the fitting.  Check with a local hydraulic shop.  I'll bet they'd crimp a new hose on your existing fittings for under $25.
