def cant deal with how slow the car was. im thinking now ill throw on the 3.9 automatic diff, maybe cf hood and trunk i calculated it saves 53.5lbs idk how much benefit ill see from that. i also have been looking at the ltw d force wheels. running double spokes right now. switching to a 17" dforce i save 18.8lbs of rotational mass. My ac system has been pulled, and i will prob do a fan delete again as well as see if i can find an underdrive kit. any suggestions welcome. am i chasing a pipe dream? not looking for stupid power anymore just safe cheap stuff that will make it a little quicker. i plan to do everything at once so it feels more epic lol.

Power steering delete, dump as much of the interior as you can live without, sunroof delete if applicable, lighter wheels and the cf parts will help. I just deleted my clutch fan without any problems, but I put it back on to add some refrigerant to the ac system. Fan delete won't do too much, but it is simple and quick. Anything you can do to make it lighter, and pull parasitics off the engine will make it faster. Lightweight flywheel can help in the lower rpm, as well as with decel time.  Are all the ac parts pulled? There are a few pounds in the dash, and 15 or 20 in the engine bay.  The 3.91 diff will kill a little of the acceleration, but stretch out the gears and up your top speed. If faster at the line is what you're after, go bigger number. 4.27 is the next step from the factory 4.10. I saw a 4.45 on ebay a few weeks back.

Saftey? I don't see any of this compromising saftey. Pipe dream? Definitely not. Being light is what the m42 is all about.

I can say from experience also that losing the "flapper door" afm and going with MAP or MAF air metering increases throttle response somewhat, if nothing else because the flapper types are mechanical and usually very old, therefore pretty worn out. I have nothing but love for going to stand alone management altogether as a matter of fact. I put ms2 on my car in prep for a turbo but the massive amount of play time with that is keeping me happy a month after I planned to be turbo'd. I will b upgrading to the brand new megasquirt 3 as soon as it comes in and I get it built, i bought one today. I will be posting a lot in regard to that soon.

Also, going to a different management system has allowed me to easily convert so many bmw parts to more generic gm and other USDM brand parts, i.e. sensors, coils, map sensor, alternator very soon, and more, makes for less down time. I learned that from owning a skyline engine swapped 240sx.

here is my economy motronic tuned 15psi m42. This is the same tune I set you persianbmw accept yours was good for 10psi... unfortunately your mechanic was not so good I had a guy down from the US the other day and we bent the drive shaft at 16psi hehe
