E30's NEED TO REPRESENT!!!
« on: May 25, 2010, 12:01:30 AM »
The BMW E30 hit the US market in the early 1980's and started the entire BMW phenomenom worldwide. I need a little help from my fellow E30 owner's. BMW of Mt. Laurel's Vintage BMW Show on June 19th, 2010 needs as many E30's on the eastcoast as possible to attend. We already have strong representation from the E36's, E46's, and E90's. We also have strong representation from E46 Fanatics, Bimmerfest, and E90 Post. The E30 started all of this and it would be a shame if you don't represent the most desired BMW of them all, the E30. Follow this link for more information.

C'mon, man. Everybody knows that the sole responsibility for BMW's popularity and sporting reputation rests firmly on the shoulders of the 2002.

Don't get me wrong, I've always loved the e30.

The 2002 was introduced in America by only a handful of dealers, but it was not until the E30's were introduced in 1983 that BMW's popularity grew.  Furthermore, no other BMW model worldwide has sold or broken as many sales records like the E30.  The 2002 did not have a good body resistant to rust and that's why you don't see many of them now.  The E30 was the first BMW ever introduced that electrically charged the body, primer, and paint to make it resistant to rust longer than the previous E21 3 Series.  That is why there are so many more E30's on the road than the previous BMW's and 2002's.  I'm not knocking the 2002's, but fact is fact.  The E30 is "the Champ."

BMW sold 380,000 2002's, then 1.3 million e21's! That's pretty nice rise in popularity. While prone to corrosion, drastically lower production numbers and the passage of time are the primary reasons there aren't as many 02's and e21's around, not rust.

I don't know about broken sales records, but I DO know that the e36 marginally outsold the e30 worldwide and in 9 production years vs. the e30's 12 years, which we ALL know doesn't make the e36 the coolest!

I turned your enthusiastic e30 rally into a pissing match. I'm a dush.

No not at all.  I don't take anything personally said on any of these forums, but I do know while you're in Oregon bailing hay or milking cows we'll be having a good time on the eastcoast at a real BMW Show.

When you're done with yours, drive out and attend the largest e30 gathering in North America: the annual PNW e30 Picnic, June 26/27th. e30Picnic.com

I never said there was anything wrong with bailing hay and attending to farm animals.  I did enough of that growing up in North Carolina myself, but I don't pick arguments when I know I do not have the right facts.  The fact is,  the BMW E30 revolutionized BMW forever, period.  Nobody at BMWNA or BMWAG will ever argue against that, because it's the absolute truth.
