So the choice here seems to be getting reground cams and headwork vs getting fresh "performance" cams with no other tuning.
I am not in the position to tinker with my cars but I'd probably go with a used cam or reground cam and headwork if I were to make the choice. Power comes at a cost regardless of approach, I'd prefer to get the best value for my inve$tment.
Key traits here are getting a worthy power gain for the effort put in. I would not go "cheap" but rather inexpensive to get something without a bottleneck (a.k.a halfassed)
Does anyone here have cams (reground or fresh) with headwork and/or accompanying electronics like a MAF upgrade?
i have cams headwork and injectors. im working on the MAF, hopfuly doing MS this summer...
as to the person wanting to know my cam specs
would be 264 degrees compared to your 259, and 9.8552mm lift to your 10.4? i was told i would see a dyno'd proven 15% increase or more in power. he has ground a few cams for these cars, and dyno tested them. i'm also a friend of his so its not BS. i will heading to the dyno hopfuly this summer if all plays out, so i will have some numbers hopfuly:).
and yes air care is the anual inspection on the cars emision system
personaly if i were going to do it over again, i would get larger cams, larger valves, stiffer valve springs, and upgrade the lifters. also get port and polishing done on the head. unfortunatly i didn't have time for all of this, i only had 5 days, so i did what i could, and so far im very impressed.
