Are you wanting to stay with a stock ratio?  Also, are you wanting LSD or open?

For the others on here...
Are E36 318is's also a 4.10 gear ratio like the E30?
1991 318is (Sold to brother :()
1995 530i (Daily driver til I find another 318is!)

be specific. or Ill get rid of this thread. You need to specify so  noone plays the guessing game cause even the same car can come with different differentials

he doesn't know that's the thing. he obviously entered his info @ realoem.com and just copied what came up [its this right?]: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BE53&mospid=47480&btnr=33_0370&hg=33&fg=05 and that only shows exactly what his car came with, not any other alternatives. he needs a list of every rearend that works (with or without modification) with a 92 (e36) 318is before he goes sourcing.

LSD not open, 4.10 or 4.27.

i want more acceleration then i want top speed.

what would a 4.27 make the car top out at if anyone does have one?

and would an E30 4.27 fit my E36?

do you have a list?

I posted a thread in the Drive line Discussion no one seems to want to respond.
im still unsure what will fit my car,  and what in the hell is the diffrence between an open diff and a lsd.

guy offered me an 4.27 lsd from an E30 will this work with out modifications? im unsure of the year. if it does need mods then what all will need to be modded?

I've got a '93 318 E36 sedan with 143k.  The diff be a straight bolt-in for yours.  Not certain of the ratio, but I believe it's a 3.45 open.
PM if interested.
