alright so im looking into suspension for my 91 is, and for overall e30's i heard bilstein shocks and konis are good, for springs i heard IE3, h&r sprts, but im trying to find the perfect combo that would give me the stiffness i need to improve my handling, and also have a good looking stance i was looking at h&r race but couldnt find them for my car, there either for 325 or something else, so can someone point me into the right direction. i do plan to track the car a few times, but from time to time i would hit tiwsites, but rarely, and i am also considering to drift, i would love your guys is ouput of what else i would need to help me out..thanks again

What are our options for shocks besides Bilstein sports & konis? And what is the best/cheapest place to buy them? Tell me now!!! :mad: It's been raining and I'm missing valuable opportunities

I have the red H&R or BavAuto springs (dont remember which) that lower your stance same as the stiff H&R's but keep the stock ride quality. This in theory should give me better predictability on rough pavement than if I had a coil-over setup. Though in reality its more like I've lost what both (stock & upgraded) offered.

I don't know about the best, but the cheapest would be on one of the forums. I got some e30 m3 springs and some billy HDs very cheap.

I got a set of stock equivalent new KYBs for about $140 total for front and rear. It was an excellent upgrade from worn out stockers

I recommend anyone thinking about kyb's to just get stock sach's unless you're really strapped for cash. I reckon they're much better, will last much longer and for not all that much more. stock is not crap, only when it has 100,000+ miles on it

i went for kybs, $100 for the front pair at the local auto parts store. it was better than driving with blown shocks and damaging other parts of the front end, but they make you feel like you're driving a camry. more importantly, i got the model for my car and installation was not straight forward. it had the wrong threads. maybe some other problems as well, i just remember it took too much effort for an "oem" part.
