Converting an S54 to OBD 1?
« on: March 29, 2010, 08:21:25 PM »
Yesterday, I went to a BMW Meet at Liberty State Park in New Jersey. There were quite a few E30 M3's with the S52 and S50 engine conversion. The thing they all have in common is what everyone wants. Has any company anywhere in the world been able to accomplish changing the E46 M3 S54 engine to an OBD 1 conversion? I have asked this question on other forums and all I get is BS instead of the truth.  I think it's a shame that there are plenty of BMW owners that have actually put a Corvette LS1 engine in either an E30 or E36 and convert it to OBD 1.  The S52 is an awesome engine, but the E46 S54 is ten times better with 333 hp from the factory and able to push out over 500hp with the right modifications.  Zionsville Autosport in Indiana is close to solving the elusive "German Code", but they will not release anything to the public until their findings are bullet proof.  This is what most E30 Fanatics want and I don't know of anyone that's done it yet. If you know of anyone please let me know.
