pilot bearing puller help

So such is life that the g240 tranny I just bought has a smaller input shaft pilot than the one I'm removing from my car! I went to oreillys to pick up a bearing puller and it doesn't fit, the tabs are too big to fit through the center hole in the bearing. Anybody know where to get one that will work? I need to be able to pick it up somewhere tomorrow as I'm in a time crunch to get my transmission in! Also can someone confirm that I do not need to remove the flywheel to get the bearing out? Thank you!

soak newpaper and stuff into the hole, and then use a bolt or anything which fit the hole just nice.. use hammer to hit it.. continue to stuff soaked newspaper into the hole and hammer the bolt into the hole...

It acts as hydraulic action to push the bearing out from the inside...

I have done something similar in the past with grease and a socket with a paper towel stuffed inside of it

I heard even bread & wooden dowels will do in a pinch, but the wet newspaper or grease seems to be a far better idea.  I had no idea that 240s had different input shaft pilot diameters, what's up with that?
