Hey guys. My car has never had A/C but when I bought it in the winter it was fine to drive around in. My mechanic told me I needed a new compressor and receiver dryer. Eventually the compressor seized up and caused me to end up on the side of the road, so he disconnected it and later removed the compressor completely.

My question is this: am I going to need any additional parts since my previous compressor was totally removed (belts, mounting hardware, I don't know!) and is there a way I can look and easily see what I might be missing?

So far I've bought a converted/rebuilt compressor from 4Banger, a new receiver dryer, an R134 conversion kit (my car was R12) and the o-rings. Can you guys think of anything else? I'm having a sort of friend do this for me so I want to be prepared for when he comes. Thanks!

Hey that might be a good idea. I'm not sure what all was taken off and I'd hate to have my friend come out and find we're missing stuff.

okay thanks a lot buddy! By hard lines you just mean hoses and stuff.. I'm pretty sure those are in place. Thanks!

By the way, if someone tells me where to look on the car I can see what it looks like I've got.

Ok, so now I've got:
Rebuilt/converted m42 compressor, belt, mount
O-rings
Receiver dryer from Pelican
R134 conversion kit

By the way, I'm trying to look in my car's engine bay just to make sure everything else is there. Can someone tell me where to look? The compressor is no longer in the car so I'm just wondering if maybe the mechanic removed more than he needed to.

Thanks,
Joe

Here are some pics of the hole where the compressor used to be. I want to make sure everything's there - where would the hard lines be? You're dealing with someone with little knowledge.

Hey 4banger, let me know when you get this message! I think maybe my stuff was lost in the mail or sent to the wrong address? It hasn't come yet (2 weeks) so I'm worried they might've misplaced it! Let me know if you've got some sort of tracking #. Thanks bud!

Take a look at the diagrams at http://www.realoem.com. The pictures don't show enough of the engine bay to know if the hoses are still there. You should be able to tell from realoem's diagrams.

Hey guys, has anyone done business with 4banger before? I'm looking for a good way to reach him. I know he was going through surgery recently but I haven't been able to contact him in about 2-3 weeks.

I did some swapping with him a few months ago, but I know he has been out of commission for a bit now with his surgery.

Yeah I know about his surgery, I just wish I had a way of contacting him to hear what's going on with the shipment. I have a feeling it was either lost in the mail or sent to the wrong address but I didn't get a tracking # from him.
