WTB- washer for cam gear bolt. Thats all.
« on: February 23, 2010, 07:14:01 PM »
Somebody got one from an M-42 tear down?  It is a thick copper washer- there are 4 on each cam gear.  Got the bolt.  But lost the washer...

Easy money for dropping it in a CD mailer and sending it down to the stupid guy who lost the washer....

Anybody?

My first thought is that such a washer would be cheap from BMW. When I looked at Realoem, however, does not show washers in these positions.  I'll try to look at the M42 head I have at home to see if this head has them. Even if it did, I would not have any spare, though.

I checked my engine and there are washers. It seems to be integral to the bolt. I hope you find some.

BMW and Pelican and Tischer all say the part number is probably the bolt ONLY.  I found a near substitute.  I think as long as the two opposing washers are equal weight, it should not be a problem, but I would prefer to use the right washer.
