Rx7 S.S. Caliper Conversion Bracket - $65 shipped

Alrighty.  A little update.  I didn't feel like tearing my friends e30 totally apart so I was forced to mount it this way.

The brake shield has to be removed, but in order to do that, I would have had to pull his hubs....way more work than I had intended on doing at 9:00pm...  But you can still see that the holes are in the correct locations and that the caliper mounts just fine.

I am going to be sending everything down to friend to install on his car probably tomorrow or the next day to verify proper fitment, but its should still be ready to go at the end of the group buy.

It seems the general spacer thickness is anywhere between 5-10mm.  I am thinking with my setup, I am going to need atleast a 10mm spacer.  Hopefully I'll know more tonight.  I got everything today and i just need to open up the bore on the rotor.

so did you replicate what has already been done or is this your own design? cuz there is plenty of free info on how to do this on r3vlimited... and no mention of removing hubs, etc

Well... you could I suppose just cut the shield to fit the caliper in.  I know that there is no mention of it anywhere, but its gotta come off.  The larger caliper will fit right over the top of it.  The bolt heads will force the shield out unless you modify it or remove it.  On the 325i I test fitted the bracket to, you would have had to pull the hub in order to remove the shield.  It might be different on the 318's though.

Mounted pics.

Well here is the pics of the brackets.  The fit up nicely without much issue.

Also, for those of you with IX's....please tell me because I have to put the notch into the bracket in order to clear the hub.

It's the price you gotta pay.  You could just space them out you know.  That's what I gotta do to mine!  :D
