I purchased the car in March 2008 and it was my daily driver for all of 2008.  I have used it off and on since then when the other cars were in the shop.  It has resided in our garage this winter.  It has 191,000 miles on it.

Here is everything I know about it.  The body needs some work as you can see.  Trim pieces and some dings and dents.  The car has a Missouri Prior Salvage title as it was totaled by a previous owner in either AZ or CA.  I think the damage was mostly cosmetic, but I know the passenger door came from a Red BMW (flaking paint on interior).  It tracks down the road straight.  I have replaced most of the small rubber hoses connected under the throttle body and ICV.  The power steering rack was replaced right after I got it with a new aftermarket.  I replaced the fog lamp switch and some interior dash trim pieces.  I replaced the dash computer with a used component from ebay.  The electric mirror switch was also replaced with a used one, but it doesn't work quite right.  The front brakes were done before I bought it.  The brake pad sensor light is bad as it is indicating time to do the brakes, but they are in good shape.  The metal trim piece that runs up the driver's door from the top of the door to the roof is bent, I assume from a break-in when the factory stereo head unit was stolen.  Both electric windows work.  When I got the car, the rear demister was disconnected.  When I removed the window tint that had gone bad, I didn't hook it back up as one of the tabs was gone.  The rear seat is in good shape.  The driver's seat is ok and the passenger's is good.  The seat belt latch return springs in front are worn and so the buttons don't pop back on their own. Both front seats need the small tabs that connect the seat back to the bottom re-welded.  I saw this fix in one of the online forums but haven't had the time to take the seats out, disassemble, and take them to the welding shop. The sun roof has a leak.  When I bought the car, the well behind the driver's rear wheel in the trunk was full of water.  I stuck a wire in the weep hole in the bottom and the water ran out.  I changed the rear shock mounts and had some shocks put on the rear.  A/C and heat both work.  The cruise control works.  The passenger side low beam head light lens is cracked.  This car has the projector style headlamps.  I don't know if the timing belt has been done, but I seem to recall being told that it had.  It starts easily each day, but if you drive somewhere and stop, say, to go to the grocery store, upon restarting, you need to wait about 45 seconds for the computer to kick the idle up just slightly.  It is a subtle change to the idle, but if you don't do this, the car will stall when you try to travel.  I have cleaned the ICV twice, thinking this was the culprit, but the problem persists.  It doesn't bother me much, as I don't mind waiting a minute.  The stereo is not included in the sale.
I will not ship.  This is a great deal on this car.  Bring cash and come and buy it from me.  $1200 is the bottom dollar as I have close to $3000 in it.  I have just lost interest.

Just want to let you know that these cars don't have timing belts.

Can you also provide details for the $3000 put into it? Thats quite a large number for these cars.

Also, where in MO are you?

Just justifies that it is a good buy and I have lost interest.  I didn't suggest that $3000 was a big number.  If I had $8k to put in mine, I would.

True, but his vehicle appears very much stock from the pictures.

Any more pictures available? Jefferson city is a bit out of the way, I was hoping you were closer to I55.

Does it have any rust? Is the paint original (besides the door)? Do you have any more photos?

yes true but mine also apears to be "stock" but here in a month it will look the exact same and ill be taking on E46 M3s and E39 M5s with little problem ;)
i dont have an is lip and im still on stock suspension but parts always add up

so far what ive done is
-paint
-Mark-D chip
-new breaks
-new transmission
-new clutch setup
-extra set of weaves
-like 4 sets of tires
-new shocks
the list goes on and on
and the list is about to be VERY long
which will include
M52B28 supercharged
getreg 260
obdI intake manifold with M3 throttle body
dinnan chip
full custom exhaust
ss header
borla muffler (dual 3" tipp)
borbet type Cs
