beater car?
« on: January 28, 2010, 11:48:09 AM »
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/1569862199.html

The car is 5 min from my house and I talked the lady down to $450, but there are no maintenance records. The body is straight and the dash is crack free. I really don't know if I need another car, but its only $450 bucks. Never owned a 325e so I'm assuming i should be looking for the regular problems belt, water pump etc...Anything I should be looking for? Thanks in advance.

I'm most likely going to buy it just because its so cheap. I know for a fact that one of lights is cracked, so I may be interested. Thanks again.

For $450 bucks you expect maintenance records?

Buy the thing, put in a battery and the brakes. Clean it up a little and you can probably get $1,000 for it.

Spend the profit on parts for your other car.

Why wouldn't I expect them? I've seen cars this cheap with records, but that really doesn't matter.

As for your second comment, thats exactly my plan. I'm good with the cleaning up part, but parting with it is a different story. Being that it's an automatic should make it easier.

Off topic but i was looking at your sig and I see you have a 2002. Pics please?

I drove it home. Starts and runs fine. Except for the flat in the rear. I guess it has a slow leak.

I don't know how cold it is in the steel city but its way too cold to do anything here, and the garage is full at the moment.

I have a set of 195/70r14 studded snows lol,  Saved my bacon a few weeks ago when it iced up real bad.  I think you said you didn't want snow tires though.
