Hi im fitting a t25 turbo to my e30 is and want to know what would be a good ecu to use? Also need to know if i need to upgrade my fuel pump spark plugs etc?

I would recommend either a full standalone (any would really do, just depends who can tune what) or a custom burnt chip for the standard ecu. You will need larger injectors and a slight fuel pump upgrade is preferrable. All depends how much boost your going to run really.

The spark plugs will need to be a step or two cooler also.

"tglaze" on the forums sell a Plug and Play MegaSquirt setup, this would involve the least work setup wise, but you would need to tune it yourself or find someone who can. There are a few people who could help you out with base maps for the MS setup though.

Your in the right spot. Have a poke around the build threads and see what the rest of us are doing

Miller performance chips makes a W.A.R. chip for the ecu on the e30 and e36. According to their applications guide if you have an E30 and the last three digits of the Bosch ecu are 175 they make one. If you have an E36 and the last three digits of your Bosch ecu are 282, they make one. So if you fit the descriptions, you should probably get one. they sell for about $350 and they are programable and you can use a couple of saved maps that you make from your pc.

I was thinking of running around 10psi of boost until i can save up enough money to buy pistons. What make of plug do you use as i cant find anyone Over here that can supply cooler plugs? also what make pump would you reccomend? Thanks for help so far.

just go to your local parts shop. they should be able to look in any brand of spark plug book (it really comes down to preference...i have none) find the M42 plug and find something suitably cooler.

10psi is about as much as most people seem to run before stepping up their game and spending money on the motor.

Most people go for the walbro pump as it is in tank and can be made to sit right in the e30 fuel pump cradle. I will be using the standard pump to fill a surge tank and then running a bosch 044 external.

Well i have arp rod bolts and head studs and a cometic head gasket. Im also wondering if e36 m3 injectors have a better flow rate than the standard is ones?

I'll be running megasquirt on mine for what that's worth. Seems suitably adaptable and I want to learn about EMS anyway.

The WAR chip is nice, but you can't tune it on the fly, which makes it a real pain.

The Mustang Green top injectors on ebay (42lbers) are affordable and should cope with anything you throw at them. But some 32lbs might do the job.

Ok thanks. Where do you pick the oil feed up from? And where do ye run the return to?:confused:

A tee piece where the oil pressure switch goes for the turbo feed and you need to modify the sump or timing case for a turbo drain. Remember to keep it above the oil level (timing case is best for this).

We've got a fitting that should work as well. We use it for mounting the oil pressure and oil temp switches and it fits into the oil filter housing. I'll try and get a picture up when I get home.
