Go Guibo!
Now thats nice. One of the things I like about the E30 fans is that you rarely see a crapo body kit, boom car, with flourescent lime green and mauve paint. I know there are some out there but not too many.  The car has a lot of mods on it but they add to the car and emphasize it's good points rather than saying, "Hey look over here and here too, and here... It's close to what a new E30 would look like if everything hadn't gotten so aero-generic.
Why do folks blank out the license plate? Thieves steal the cars they see.

Damn smoked headlights are so hot ><. What your opinions on the splitter? Debating if I should put one on the red car or not. Are those used or new headlights and are the rings around the lights chrome or black?

thanks for the luv...

I'll say it again... modding a diamantschwartz car tends towards the subtle... we have like, no opportunities for contrast, so it's a little tough to stand out...

I blanked out the plate because I was going to do a fake 'M42 CLUB' vanity plate, but it looked crappy but I had already blanked out my tag. If anyone wants to check my outstanding (and I mean 'outstanding') parking tickets, you can go to the NYC.gov website and punch in DJD-9396.

The splitter is nice, but it's a plastic doodad for looks, I'm not kidding myself, lol. I guess it provides some nice leverage to fully rip the lip off the car the next time I pull into the drive through in a burger-related frenzy.

The headlights are new. I thought about self smoking my bosch smileys, but sorta knew I would wind up breaking a lens etc. I've sorta had it with ordering used parts from europe, waiting 8 weeks for shipping, and then having to deal with... well, used parts from europe.

The headlight rings are black. The bright rings are the edges of the glass lenses.

I suggest a Motorsport ///M badge for the "M" in M42.  :D

Otherwise, looks great!  It's hard to keep a black car clean, and you have one of the cleanest I've ever seen.  That takes dedication to drive a black car in NYC!!!!  I give you credit there.

I, on the otherhand, am a lazy slacker, so I drive Alpenweiss...  I'm just waxing it for my first time now.  ;)

wow...I want 2! It doesn't matter if the upgrades are subtle, I think it's one of the cleanest E30 I've seen. Standing out and being original is not that important if you ask me, I love your car, you shouldn't change a thing. Wish mine was that clean...at least I'll have nice smileys improving the front end lol

Kinda late, but very clean car.

I wanted to ask, where did you get the m42 badge? I'd love to buy one.

:D Hey you have my rims!!!.... Very nice looking. I hope  mine  looks that good when I get the motor  back so I can paint it. Regarding  325iS skirts, here is a list of all the parts, hardware, etc.  You actually have to drill one or two holes....not sure. And  I think  it needs 6  (part #8) clamps  for each side.  HTH.

Indian Summer update
« Reply #39 on: October 21, 2007, 04:25:23 PM »
Well, I haven't updated in awhile. In august I moved from Brooklyn (Bushwick, yo...) to the suburbs: Bay Shore, LI. It's about 45 miles from NYC, and I finally have a real garage and driveway.

Bought a little truck (1999 Ranger) for the wifey:

Today we had some nice weather, so I drove out to the beach. Robert Moses State Park is only 15 minutes from the house!

I haven't really done any major mods to the E30... just little stuff... we were so busy the last year my time for the car evaporated.

But, winter is coming, and I sorta figured, what the heck, why not try out something a little different:

More to come! I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the thing, exactly. It's kinda a mess.
