Hi... I will update and edit this shortly, sorry for the cameraphone pic also.

anyway, I had really wanted a 318is, bought a tired but straight running car off ebay, and have been sorting it out since last august. It's a lot of fun to drive, pretty easy to work on... I love my car.

Major items include a sand and respray, new (used) dashboard, and H&R/Billy sports (just installed yesterday!), Ronal LS rims with BFG 215 50 15 tires.

Minor appearance fixings include euro trim, clear turns (which I have since smoked with lamin-x), an apparently disposable iS lip, sideskirts, trunk spoiler (original spoiler was crumbly + oxidized), euro plate filler, MHW smoked tails, euro grills, carbon fiber roundels (I'm embracing my shame here in a public forum). I debadged the trunk.

Lighting and electronics + other bits: Bosch euro smiles with a mcculloch 5000k HID kit, new fogs, 13 button OBC conversion, Oil temp gauge from an M3 cluster, M3 red gauge needles, M-tech II steering wheel, and a C43 cassette headunit from an E36. K&N cone filter thingy + ebay chip... (the 'buy it now' special) haha.

Maintainance stuff... oh wow... did I mention that this car was 'tired' when I got it? um, a ton of hoses, belts, plugs, motor mounts, brake pads, rotors, tie rods, radiator, steering rack, alternator, muffler, fuses, lightbulbs... phew!

I have big plans for the car, and will post more photos soon.

Did you install iS sideskirts yourself? I have a set in my basement but haven't had the time or motivation to install them and I was wondering how much work it was.

They literally snap on, although I have a feeling some of the plastic mounting bits don't come out once they go in, so be careful if you're fitting them to test.

someone else asked: they don't interfere at all with the jack mount etc.; they angle out, not down.

Ah dang it. I bought my 318is as a real world DD. I didn't intend to start another car addiction, but I feel strange. I jjust gotta do some mods. Just a little. Yeah. I won't get hooked. Just good pads & rotors. And shocks of course. Oh, and some springs. And a chip. Exhaust isn't really a "mod" is it? Some new bushings would really .... uh oh! "Hello, 911?"

Did you remove the "abrasiveness" from the front and rear valences? That sort of bumpy feel to it? If so, I am glad you did. It does wonders for making it look younger with a fresh coat of paint on the smooth surfaces!

Wow - I didn't realize this. I always thought I had to drill holes. I'm going to have to check out how it all fits on! Thanks! This more than makes up for the 6-button clock incident

well... to avoid another "OBC-GATE": I had two plastic pop rivets left over, so I may have missed a pair of holes in the install...

Looks great Febi. I love the 15 inch Ronals on an E30. Was your car in the Atlanta, GA area when listed on ebay? If so I was seriously checking it out at the time. I was looking for a back up 318is plan in case the lot I bought mine from wouldn't deal. This would have been last Feb./March.

I bought mine at the end of august, but who knows... there was another D/S 318is on atlanta craigslist around the same time, but it had a blown clutch and some other issues.

I wanted deep dish bbs rz's ...but alas, 'twas not to be!
