M42 turbo vs E36 M3(stock, I think)

I am not a fan of street racing but I could not resist.

I was behind the M3 saying to my buddy "that is a clean M3."

The lane opens up to 3 lanes before a red light and natualy I change lanes (I hate cars in front of me). Im not thinking race until my buddy says he wants to race you. I look over and the other dirver smiles revving his engine with his buddy or girlfriend in the passenger seat. He probably heard my BOV from the previous stop sign.

The light turns green and I slighty bog my start. At the end of first gear Im right next to him. After 2nd Im a car link ahead. During 3rd I consider the race over but hes now pissed. We merge onto the highway, after we are all clear and on the highway he speeds off while I have a car in front of me.

Then I notice the car in front is a 70's turbo'd 911 and takes off like a bat out of hell wasting the M3. I couldn't help but just laugh.

Thats it.

I do not condone street racing and if this post is not welcome I will delete it.

I just had to tell somebody.

the shelby made right under 900
my m3 made a a tad under 700 like 670
street racing is a blast !!!!!!!!!!! if u dont get caught lol

Nice run Awgy.  Our little turbo 4pots can really surprise ppl.  I'm also with you on the street racing thing.  I almost never do it... almost.

I ran my buddies 540i6 from a 60 start on the highway.  He barely walked me @7psi and with my clutch slippage.  I want to run him again now that I am at 10.5psi after I get my spec clutch.  His car dyno'd 285rwhp and runs a 14.1 quarter.  Makes me wonder what mine can do........

I did something similar yesterday. However it didn't involve racing. I hammered my E30 318 stroker and then I hammered an E36M. They felt exactly the same.
