Certainly not new to BMW nor to E30s.  Formerly owned a '87 325is and presently own a '88 M3.  I have been searching for another M20 iS or an iX, but as many of us know it is very difficult to locate a clean E30.  I have stumbled across a nice 318is or at least the pics present it as one.  Honestly, I have zero experience with the M42.  Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Edit:  Looking to use this vehicle as a daily driver to replace my former daily driver, a '92 E34 525i.

buy it, that is all ;)

we may be having meets in boone this wear pretty often.  You are welcome to come if you aren't too far.  The m42 is an awsome engine, I would take it over a m20 car anyday.

Will do.  The owner has not publicly announced it for sale, but I have communicated with him a few times and have various pics.  Honestly, it maybe further than either one of us care to go, Northeast.

I just bought one and love it.  The M42 has been a learning experience for my Tech and myself.  So far it has been very straight forward.

The major plus is thei board. Nothing but amazing help. BUY IT!

Did you have a PPI completed prior to purchasing it?

HELL NO...   I like to live on the edge!

However, if it sounds like a 1982 VW Rabbit Diesel, you might want to pass.

Looks like this iS is not going to pan out.  It has odometer/speedo issues and the true mileage is unknown.

If anyone comes across one FS please point me in that direction.  TIA
