talking with some car club guys today, apparently ACS made a 2.2 M42? what sort of power would a stroker like this put out?

and how, M44 crank and custom pistons i imagine?

custom crank im guessing.

Guys have started doing this with the m47 diesel crank, and an overbore. getting just over 2.1l.

check out the thread on Febi's engine build.

2.2 seems a little much, but maybe a skilled machinist could pull it off.  I wouldn't want to go much over 2.0 though b/c boost + really thin walls = bad ;)

ACS made a 2.1, hartge a 2.1 and a 2.3. they all used really long throw stroker cranks - they were bored too though

For N/A motors, 2.1 is about ideal (my opinion)... you can take it out to a perfectly square bore/stroke, and with custom pistons you can have a non interference setup.

The M44 crank provides a marginally longer stroke, and to my knowledge, it's cast, rather than forged...

My target was around 100hp per liter, without being too fussy and reasonable for normal, high-traffic NYC driving... hopefully I can get the car on a dyno in october and we'll know how close I got.

can i use M44 piston (85mm) combine with crank from M47 (88mm, forged, no balancer) because this crank same construction with crank M42 .. and it's produce 1997cc -->> bore x stroke = 85 x 88
wow, that's must be incredible i guest.. :)
what do you think guys ??

I'm bored and stroked to (about) 2130cc... it's nice!

If yer going to go through all that trouble, consider S50 or custom pistons.

do not go over 87mm in every case (na or turbo), if you want that thing last...

this is what hartge do for M44s(99,8 mm stroke :) ):

I know metric mechanic goes to a 87mm bore on their rally engine and an 88mm stroke. they put out about 205hp (with some different camming, and other various things). their motor the build is actually more reliable than w/ factory components because they lighten everything up (and its got a 8K redline!). the M44 only has a 2mm longer stroke, if you go throught the hassle why not go all out and get the M47 crank?

Christoph, look at the date of his post.  Over a year ago, I have never seen him post here before that one.  That car is sick though, you see the unilug suspension?

wow after looking at specs on the motors even a 2mm bore to 86mm is a .080" on a domestic v8 ! a lot of the new blocks don't recommend going any more than .030 or .040 more than factory, and this is on a stock 4"/101.6mm bore.
