My engine fell apart
« on: August 12, 2006, 04:53:41 PM »
I was working on the car today andI decided to take the sparkplugs out and look at them, to see if all is well or if i need to change them.  I take them out and put them back, nothing wrong there.  after this, I start her up and she is running like shit.  Some backfireing and rough ide, all around no good.  I took the plugs back out and put them back to check to make sure that was fine.  It still ran like shit.  I was looking around the engine after this looking for something out of place and I found that the breather hose was not attached to anything, and the hose it was supposed to attach to was cracked to hell.  I have to wait and go to the dealer to get new hose as no store around here sells it.  I have a feeling the AFM might be bad, how do you test it?

Reversed plug wires? Your car will do just that when you do so. The breather hose won't help it run well either and will trigger a check engine light. The coil packs are numbered. THe cylinders are in order of the first cylinder at the front end being #1 and the last one closest to the firewall is #4. Check you haven't crossed the wires or hopefully f'd up a boot by tugging on it the wrong way :(
