E36 318ti crank sensor.

I have a e36 compact, it was a 1600 single cam, i bought a m42 1800cc '93 ti motor. The 1800 is not a ews motor, but im not sure if my 1600 was, the car is '98


the Ti came with the brain loom all sensors etc. I have put this into the compact and i am not getting a signal from teh crank sensor, i have checked this with a snap on plug in computer.


The motor does spark, and if i put easy start into one of the bores it will fire it.

Is this a wiring problem? I thought these where plug and play, but im not so sure now!
