what are you wanting for the stock tape deck? ive been thru 7 junkyard stereos and not a fucking one worked...id say ive spent atleast $200 on junk radios over the past 7 years.  seeing as your not 100% its working im not gonna offer much more than the shipping on it.

Wish I knew...I gave away a stock deck with my 525i a couple months ago.  The last one I have didn't come with the anti-theft code.

If you're at a salvage yard check out early e34s too.  My 89 M20 525i used the same odd wiring harness as the e30s.  I'll bet that lasted into 1990.

I will try to get a chance to see if the radio plug is still in the car, if it works I will let you know. I have not been able to get my radio out because it's stuck on the left side for whatever reason.

the big problme with junkyard bimmer decks is when they pull the decks 90% of the time they dont get the anti theft code card from the owners packet.

I've got a decent working stock radio with code if you're interested.  Seemed to work fine.  Tape deck worked for using a tape adapter... not sure on actual tapes though.  I'll get a pic asap.

I had a tape deck adapter wire soldered directly onto the tape reader head for a direct aux input.  Worked great!  Til I removed the deck and accidentally ripped the wire out lol.  I could try and re-attach it if you're interested in the radio.  It was a pretty good clear reliable way to have an aux in without going the fm modulator route.  I just put a gutted tape in the deck and it would play the sound perfect.
