ok yesterday I went to the store to get some stuff with my 318is. after I was done got in the car and started just fine, after a few minutes of driving I tried to accelerate and after I left off the gas pedal the throttle got stuck in around 5k rpm and I tried braking and the car just shut off? tried turning the key back on and no lights at all. on dash or anywhere else. had to push the car on some parking spot. I thought the battery got disconnected or something so I checked it. it didnt, but the battery was getting hot and drained. do these cars have an main fuse for the power? cuz none of the fuses got blown

Wow! - Sounds like you have a major short on the battery positive side from Battery area to front to starter some where in that order. Better take a you a spare battery and an ohm meter with you or tow/pull it home. Look for charred wire insulation and use the sniffer to locate burnt rubber. GL

I think when I put the lower intake on. the red wire from the starter is touching that metal. so I guess that might be it

Yeah - I agree, might be a positive wire short.  I don't think there is a main fuse, but there is a main relay under a shroud on the firewall.  Could also be a battery internal short, they do that on occasion.  I'd grab the battery from the car & haul it to a car shop.  They'll test them for free & you can eliminate that as a problem before you tear anything else apart.

I'm pretty sure the starter is not fused.  Check the harness wires running behind the engine from the tray on the passenger side firewall.  That's where the positive junction blocks are for the battery pass-through from the trunk.

found the problem. it was the wire that plugs to the idle speed sensor. it might me damaged but I cant see and dont feel like taking the whole thing apart again. I just unplugged the wire and drives fine
