« on: November 14, 2009, 02:02:58 PM »
i have a suzuki sj410 , im thinking to upgrade my power by a BMW engine .... my friends used in there car 2000 cc ( in a 316 e36 compact ) and 25000 cc ( in a TOYOTA 4RUNEER 4X4 ) bmw engines .... they were so powerful , and im thinking about M42 on my zuki ... since i can't put a 6 in-line bmw engine .... so they told me that the m42 will give me the best power i can get from a N/A ( 1600cc to 2000cc ) engine and have plenty parts in our country ( JORDAN , HKJ )

the original engine is : suzuki 1000cc , 42hp , 75 nm .
the present engine is : toyota 5k 1500cc , 101 nm .
the BMW M42 ENGINE : 1800cc , 134hp , 175nm .

what r the gearboxS that i could put on it .... i want a short one so i can us my transfercase !?!?!?!?

Well I don't know about finding a transmission that will fit that. I just think its awesome that you are putting a BMW engine in a Japanese vehicle. Good Luck.

Forget horsepower numbers and look for an engine with torque in the lower RPM range. The M42 is a high-revving engine and I don't believe it would be well suited to offroading.

Maybe an M47 would be a better choice if you positively, absolutely insist on going BMW.:D

could n't have a diesel engine on a passenger car @ jordan also u will never find a diesel engine here .
i know the best for me is to have torque @ low RPM , but the car waights 800kg-900kg ( 2000lbs ) , and the e36 around 1400 kg ( 3100lbs ) , also i have a transfercase ... wich have a 2h,4h,4l .... if not using the m42 .... im thinking of a TOYOTA 4A-GE
