I found a great place for an oil temp sender when I was doing my rebuild and I though I would share. It's on the oil filter housing and is the same size as the oil drain plug. Check it out in the pic below.

you can also make a hole to put the oil temp sensor to the oil filter cap...

That's where I pick up my oil temp signal as well for my cluster :cool:

hiya fellas i'm trying to put an oil temp sensor on mine and have been wondering where to put the sender, have you got any more pics or descriptions as i can't see the photo above for some reason?

Rob, this picture does not show up. Where did you get your parts from? I am very interested in getting BOTH oil temperature and pressure. Thanks.

It's M12x1.5

That port goes into the oil filter supply (pressurized) so it's no good for a return port. Better to weld an aluminium pipe in the oil pan so you don't have to use a pump.

The guy that produced the cap is no longer in business. BTW, we had a set of custom adapters made that allow you to use a standard 1/8" NPT sensor in either this fitting or the oil pressure sender fitting at the back of the oil filter housing. We have a few extra if anyone is interested.

I don't think the fitting is big enough in diameter to work for an oil cooler. This is for a 1/8" NPT sensor, and we use 3/8" NPT for our oil cooler. It would work for oil supply to a turbo as well as oil temp or pressure.
