Regarding this symptom.  --- Not sure what roll this plays but when I lift the clutch at the point where the car wants to lurch forward and if I hold it there along with the brake it idles perfectly at 850. Once I release the clutch it jumps back to the 1k area
and idles there. The hoses do seem soft and mushy after the car is heated up.

Any ideas?

Another note... when I was inside the car (idling) if I pressed the clutch down I could hear a swooshing noise, let go of clutch it would go away.. engage and press down I would hear a some air... is that the vacuum? normal?

Throttle body switch meaning the TPS sensor? on the side of the TB.

Pressing the clutch pedal down & hearing some whirring noise could be unrelated to your idle problem. The clutch throw-out bearing (TOB) can be noisy if worn. I've also found a few pilot bearings that disintegrated over the years...they made the transmission input bearing a little noisy instead.

Here's a diagram for the clutch. The TOB is part 4...I've also seen occasional trouble with the "ball pin" fork pivot...part 5 in that diagram. It's plastic, wears out eventually. Once it's worn down, the clutch can drag slightly and make a bit of noise.

Yep, I meant the throttle position sensor (TPS).
