So which one should I get? I read that ours has the small case but the med case is interchangeable? I also read that the med case is easier/cheaper to buy replacement friction packs for and the small case is weaker.

Anything I should look for?

so which one is better for the M42? I'm leaning towards the Medium case as i can get new clutch plates easier

Nomad, go with the medium case! No question. WAY more ratios and LSD options. I'll be putting in a 3.91 lsd out of a 325 really soon. This is on an e36 by the way.

Are you doing this on an e30 or e36? e30 I believe has a few options such as a 4.10 and 4.45 (

) I'll have to do some cross referencing on the ETK. I'm more familiar with the e36 diff swap though.

Thanks, I'm looking to keep the 4.10 but with LSD.
I don't mind high revs if it gets me off the line and into the powerband better.
I was looking at the med case due to availability of rebuilding.
Thanks for the advice. I'll let you know when I get one.
First on the list is putting in the E36 steering rack I just picked up.
