I'm trying to get a group buy together on BC racing coilovers over here.
Have been in one or two cars with them and they actually have very comfy ride when adjusted to the meduim damping rates. Even bouncy at the soft setting but that's because it was just an Integra Type-R on it's bump stops, lol.

I still don't think I'll put them on my road car if I get them. Have to use somebody elses one has a Guniea pig first:p

I was planning to get H&R Sports with Bilstein Sports.  I should be in the clear right?

Our oilpans are nowhere as hard to replace as a m20. I would know from experience.

My .02: drop the ride as much as you want. If you want the look of oilpan scraping, you need to watch for potholes, road junk, rocks, speedbumps or sudden change in elevation. If not, buy spare oilpans and a lot of kitty litter.

even made the damn tranny gaskets to the motor leak.

I've been daily driving Ireland Stage 3's w/ Bilstein sports for 2 years now. Awesome setup. Very comfy for daily driving, I don't mind a harsh ride but my gf and mom don't mind it either. Ireland Stage 3's are same rate as H&R Race's and same drop but Ireland's are a linear spring rather than a progressive which makes them much more firm. If you want a 2 inch drop but don't want coilovers, its the way to go. Never had an issue w/ my m42 since you just know to be careful and avoid stuff and its all good. Never had an issue also w/ my m50 and that's been in there 4 months now and sits just a hair lower than the m42 pan.

IE3's, at least the current ones, are actually progressive as well. Check out the pics; you can tell because they have variable spacing between coils.

Coilovers are the only way to go low and have springs stiff enough to make it handle well (autocross-well, that is) and not bottom out. If it is too stiff or low for you, get a new set of springs (about $50 for a pair) and raise the height a bit. Easy and adjustable

Intrax springs... 2.25" drop.  Looks crazy low.  Handles decently too if paired with some good shocks.
