Dash lights wont turn off!!!!!
« on: July 15, 2008, 03:37:53 AM »
Hi there, I cannot turn my dash lights, number plate lights off. I've changed the headlight switch to no avail. This problem seems to have arisen after i installed an aftermarket radio. I have to remove a fuse to get them to go off.
Can anybody shed some light on this?
Thanks

Sounds like you may have a problem at the new deck. Did you install it yourself, or pay someone to do it?
I would doublecheck the wiring for the aftermarket radio, make sure you properly wired it - in particular, the constant +12v (red/green to connector C215, then yellow to the OE radio) and dimmer (gray/red to connector C215, then white to the OE radio). Sounds like they are connected together to me. Is it fuse 21 you have to pull?

Sounds very book smart there ak! Most likely right but ill add my insight. I've had it where i push in my knob to shut off my headlights and sometimes the dash lights stay on as well as the markers. I had to turn the key all the way on and "re-turn" off my lights and the dash lights shut off. Ak is probably right about the radio.. I bet i fudged up my wiring when i fixed the wiring on my radio or maybe its my switch.
