Remove Rear Deck
« on: November 12, 2007, 02:30:34 PM »
I'm posting this before looking at the  assembly of the rear deck, so if it is as simple as two bolts forgive me.
Anybody know how to remove the rear deck. I just need it moved a bit out of the way to lay tint behind the third brake light. I'd slide it behind, but I don't want to get a piece of fuzz under the tint from the carpeting.

Pull the lower rear seat. Remove the 2 bolts that hold the upper rear seat (10mm socket, one on each side, sometimes covered by the rear seat armrest trim), and lift the rear seat back out. Now, pull the covers off of the seat belt winding mechanisms, and slide the whole rear deck out. There is a trim retainer (plastic thing) in the middle of the rear deck which may or may not be engaged, so if you encounter resistance in the middle, that's what it is - you'll have to pop it out of the metal underneath the rear deck.
