310R Input&Output Shaft Seals
« on: June 02, 2012, 12:05:36 PM »
Any suggestions on replacing the auto trans input and output shaft seal. My seal/bearing puller seem to big and I do not think a pilot bearing puller will work.

I normally just use an awl to punch two small holes 180 degrees from each other, thread a wood screw in each hole just enough to get a bite and then pull on the screws to remove the seal.

You can also use a small screwdriver to lift the seal out, but I don't know how much room you have to work with on the input seal.

I use either method, just be careful not to score the seal bore.
