If you're looking to just buy US E36 M3 lifters and drop them in...then the answer is no.  If you want to modify your valve train to lighten it using US E36 M3 parts...then the answer is yes.

Different cam trays, different lifters, different springs, two areas on the cam tray need to be clearanced on the exhaust side, oil feed needs to be redone on exhaust side.  That's about it in a nutshell:-)

I heard that S50 lifters are 37mm and not 35mm like M42.
What about the M44 solid lifters?Of any use?

M44 uses hydraulic tappet and rocker arm set-up not lifters. Different cyl head on M44.

The US 3.0/3.2 are 33mm. The Euro 3.0L/3.2L are 37mm just like the E30M3 S14 which are definitely 37mm.
The M44 is completely different.
