Might want to mention your location in case someone local wants to pick it up.

I would also list this over on R3V.

Updated with location. Rohnert Park CA. Already on r3v too thanks!

You may want to check r3v considering this is M42 Club and we love our M42's

haha. I second that. R3v has a whole subforum dedicated to m30 swaps and other less than common swaps.

How-To's / DIY Fuel Pump Replacement
« on: February 08, 2010, 01:29:19 PM »
Nice write up. I ended up doing mine a couple years back on the side of the road. Wasn't too bad. I think I had replaced the whole unit though and not just the pump itself.

Engine + Driveline / Exhaust intensity
« on: February 08, 2010, 01:26:28 PM »
I had stock header to cat delete, then a small resonator to a 2 1/2" cat back into a magnaflow oval. Was a nice volume with a bit of rasp in the mid rpm range. After I put the cat back in it was much better for everyday driving. Nice deep tone, but no rasp, and no longer attracted ricers.

Engine + Driveline / Bottom end rebuild. Break-in procedure?
« on: February 08, 2010, 01:22:40 PM »
Warm up and drive for 10-15 minutes with decent acceleration and engine braking. Nothing over 4,000 rpms. Stop, let cool and proceed to drive like that a few more times. After 20-30 miles of that sort of driving. Stop and drain oil, replace filter, fill up and drive moderately for another 1500 miles. Avoid highways and constant speeds during this time but feel free to rev it out a little more. Again, you want lots of engine braking. After 1500 miles do the filter and oil again. Continue break in for another 2000-2500 miles then oil and filter one last time before you go to regular interval mile oil changes.

That's pretty much how I broke in my new m10 and it runs great.

You want to seat the rings during this time so some load on the engine is important both accelerating and decellerating.

Avoid lugging the engine during this time as it is very bad for your engine.

After break in. Rev the piss out of it and enjoy!

M42 Buyer's Guide / Picked up new e30, whadya think

Looks like a good car. I second the heater plate and cleaning up the mess under the intake. That is usually the source of some lost power due to the dozen little lines that tend to crack over time.

For performance grab yourself a chip. It will be the most bang for buck on your car.

1990 Nissan Sentra 5 speed.

Talk about a tin can on wheels haha. Timing belt snapped and make quick work of that engine about a year after I got it.

I am putting up for sale my Fuel injection setup.

It currently is setup with a sidedraft manifold for an m10 but the throttle bodies will also bolt up to any other dcoe sidedraft manifold such as the dbilas or any other m42/m44 dcoe sidedraft manifold.

I bought this stuff when I purchased my 1970 2002 with the hopes of going with a Megasquirt setup. Everything is in great used shape or with a few of the things (Throttle linkage and fuel filter) are brand new and have never been used. Everything I have is Manufactured by Weber unless otherwise stated.

I have:

- 2 Weber 40mm DOCE Type ITB's.

These come complete with Pico injectors, fuel rails, fuel pressure regulator, throttle position sensor, vacuum rail for map sensor, and throttle levers.

- A Warneford Designs DCOE type manifold which is made for the m10. The manifold is in great shape.

- A four post wasted spark ignition coil

- Fuel Filter

- Mount for an inline fuel pump

- A couple feet of Weber fuel line

- DCOE Type throttle cable linkage

- Air temp sensor by, Magneti Marelli

- Magnetic pickup by, Magneti Marelli

- ICV, Idle control valve

- 2 air horns for the throttle bodies. (you need two more)

This setup will scream on an m10 or m42/m44!

asking $1200 but am open to offers as well. Less than that if you don't want the m10 manifold. Located in Rohnert Park CA.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!
