i definitely agree. but the best of both worlds are nice and easily obtainable so i say why not. raise the overall fun factor.....after i mod the hell outta this little motor ill be dropping in a inline six anyway.. hopefully an s50 but more than likely  the m50..any advice..

OK... some assistance and any tips or advice are definitely needed right now.  I am wanting to drop a 94 325is motor in a 92 318is both are e36 chassis.  will the 325 motor go right in is there a conversion kit.  How big of a job will this be I have an excellent mechanic, but my concerns are simple what will i need to make this project be legit..concerns are the ecu brain, exhaust, tranny, water pump, radiator, please input all tips, regarding mechanical procedures, necessary parts and genius know how.  I know many people have done this but i want to make this as simple as possible as I have found several motors from e36 chassis......calling all bmw enthusiasts.....lol  Thanks guys.

I was halfway asleep when i wrote that, but seriously what modifications can you do to a 318is. Not looking for a 10 second hot rod but would like some input on some serious mods for my new m42. What are your best suggestions.  I already have an air intake and a chip. How easy will it be to reach 200 hp with this motor?

my e36 318is now has a new ecu chip and an intake already very noticable power gain might even be pushing around 160 hp at 6500 7000 rpm dont know what my 1/4 mile time is right now but what do you guys think a lightwieght flyweel and a new exhaust will gain me.. what do i need to do to make my m42 haul some serious ass without a turbo, supercharger or engine swap. i may possibly do that later down the road but this little m42 is fun, may even do some cam work. please tell me what to do to make this car as potent as it can be without a turbo or supercharger.....

i have a 92 e36 318is with 200,000 just bought it. runs like brand new ive had it for nearly two months now can this be turbo'd was gonna put a lightwieght flywheel in it to to take some stress off all the bearings would you turbo this block? i could put new gaskets all the way around but tell me what you guys think..or should i just drop an s50 3.0 in it...already has a chip and intake its real real quick for four cylinder planning on adding magnaflow muffler, aluminum flywheel possibly header and possibly cams from shreck street cams 256 lift from 240 degree lift. should i get the header i think with all this stuff  ill increase my 1/4 mile time for sure.  i know with the s50 conversion ill be able to do 12's i need help what would you guys do on a budget..
