Don't buy them - get a set of 15" instead.

No 318iS should be on 14's anymore...

I don't like huge rims. stupid fashion. I Like to see much rubber around my rims.

you guys from the US are all laughing but eh that car is unique. very confy. classy and cheap to run. it drives perfectly. the 115 hp are quite enough to take over your average european car.

Yes, those were sold on all BMW 318is in america. The logos are just stickers, about 7 bucks each. What is he asking for them?

170 dollars..

tyres are 90% gone. i'm buying only for the rims. they need a repaint but otherwise good condition he says.

M42 Buyer's Guide / M42 or M20B25

Eventually with some extra money a tuned M42 engine can reach 160-165hp quiet easily, which are not so far from the 170 of the M20b25!

IMHO the sound of a tough 4cyl like the M42 isn't even comparable with the unemotional regular sound of a 6cyl like the M20!

well mind that i have an euro spec E30 325 without a cat... phase 1.

on paper only it has 171hp but that 1 hp more than the 325 phase 2 makes all the difference.

anyway I want that famed E30 M42. I understand the weight and balance argument of the 4cyl M42. and besides i'm an unable to reduce the consumption of my M20.

You might try a E34 as well, those were awesome if you don't mind the size
They have the seperate headlights, and the late E34's the 525i came with the M25TU so it had a timing chain AND vanos!

yea the M50 engine in the late 525 is tempting as well. If I had a big garage I would buy one
by the way I already have a 518 E34.. my first buy. It is 4cyl M40 engine with a belt. it drinks much less fuel than my M20B25

thx for the answers.  I'm on the hunt for a M42.. E30... with a decent condition though. I had to do lots of work on my M20. While it has been lots of fun, better buy good from the start.

by the way E36 and all other models afterward do have 4 separate headlights but they have disappeared behind aerodynamic plastic crap. The only reason why I won't buy newer BMWs, because those BMWs bent and opened it wide too modern aerodynamics, forgetting to design a car that looks gorgeous. your E36 looks good don't worry. but it lacks what I'm looking for in a BMW

Hello,

I have a M20B25 in a cab, auto, no cat.... great great car. super combo

I'm jealous only because the M42 is supposedly bullet proof with its chain. I also heard the M42 lust for revs.

So I wonder is it worth to buy an E30 318is if you have my car?

by the way no E36 plz! the real BMWs have 4 separate head lights who don't give a ^&##$ about aerodynamics.
