Suspension / Kosei K-1 Racing wheels
« on: December 29, 2008, 02:56:18 PM »
They are not hubcentric, but typically come with rings matched for E30 hub-bore. They do not use any centercaps.

Reliable and widely use wheels, but there are cheaper equivalents out there.

Try volvo 940 or 960 first. Same fan but the shroud is easier to adapt. 850 fan and shroud is second choice.

Can these be used with our stock/M44 auxiliary fan switches?

If anyone know about how much power a stock clutch can hold ???

Your best bet is to just do an M20 flywheel upgrade, since the clutch is physically larger and the OEM clutch has good torque capacity already.

What were your oil temperatures before/after installing the oil cooler? I'm pretty interested in the setup, but I am N/A so my engine isn't generating that much heat.

Do you have pictures of the oil cooler kit installed on the M42?

You might have to be perma-banned for even considering those wheels...

Your Diamond Racing 16x8 Steelies, what offsets are you running?

how about using a spacer to bring the wheels flush with the fenders?

If it's ET +28mm, then you are going to need at least 25+mm spacers, front and back. That's going to look terrible too.

It all really depends on what look you are going for, and also what suspension setup you are running. If you have a drop anywhere from 1-3", I think the wheels will look awkward with the camber/toe change.

I suggest you look for a set of lower offset wheels, something between +10-25mm, 7-8" wide.

16x7 +28mm offset wheels will fit just fine in our cars. However, the wheel will be very sunken inward, almost identical to stock.

Justin,
Do you have a picture of your cold-air intake setup?

So let me clarify and make sure I understand:

The corner circled in red needs to be ground down/notched. This is so the small TB linkage can open parallel?

Also, how did you attached the aluminum throttle stop?

Good work as always Justin!

Engine + Driveline / trany and motor mounts
« on: May 20, 2008, 02:39:13 PM »
I'm using E28 528i (Green) motor mounts and AKG E21 motor mounts with aluminum caps. The entire car vibrates a lot, but the throttle response is incredible. You're looking at $60 for the motor mounts and $70 for AKG tranny mounts, $130 total for a track-proven setup.

Awesome looking! Is this the stock M42 fuel injector rail? How available are these ITB's from M3's? I'm VERY interested in following the same route you are going...
