Parts in Amherst, MA. 1 Hour North of Hartford, CT.

If you have issues with pricing please take it up with me in pm so as not to pollute the thread.

Sold my E30 and don't have a use for these parts anymore. Was going to put some C4 Corvette wheels (look like the compomotive TH Mono wheels) and do a lightweight flywheel swap into a low-mile G240.

I'm away from home at the moment, I'll update with pictures when I get back Sunday night.

The transmission and flywheel stuff would be better off sold as a package, so if you're interested send me a pm about pricing with a list of what you want.

I have for sale:

Set of (4) 4x100 to 5x120.65 20mm E30Rob wheel adapters $300 + shipping.
These have never been used and are still in their packaging. Pending Sale

Getrag 240 manual transmission with 60k miles on it $150 + shipping.
Was not used, had a broken mount that was repaired professionally.

325 Flywheel in excellent condition with spacer and bolts $100 + shipping.

E21 323i European clutch release (throw out bearing) new and unused $60 shipped.

325 Pressure plate new and unused $70 shipped. Sold

General Topics / locating coolant loss

I've had a problem with coolant loss too. I think my problem is the bad one, some white milky stuff on the oil filler cap and dipstick, also steam coming from the exhaust. I'm still not sure what to do so its garaged as of today.

Engine management / AFM or what?

I used a multimeter from t1-t2, and then I swung the little flap forward and back, I think the manual refers to it as a potentiometer?

Looks like it was the AFM, it's not giving a steady signal through its entire range of motion. Anyone have one for sale?

Thanks, all the hoses look good (they're new as of April), and the idle seems to have calmed down. That may be because it's warm out today (60F compared to 10F when that whole thing happened). Car still throws the 1215 code.

So the other day it was really cold out (10deg.F) and after startup my idle would drop like it was going to stall, and then kick back up. Not a problem when I was driving. I had been stopped at a light and when shifting from 1st it took off into the 4k rpm range when i pushed in the clutch. I let the car roll back down the hill into a bus stop and it wouldn't start. Had it towed and about an hour later it started, but idle would fluctuate between smooth and stalling. I'm thinking this is an AFM issue, what do you think? M42 with 151k on it. What can I do to fix this?

The black cover for the lights on mine broke, so I took it off. Is it possible to find just the plastic film, do I have to get the whole assembly? Where can I get it, if i can get it?

Piece is circled in red

So I just recently purchased a 91 318is with 150k on it. I have complete maintenance records and they don't show any work having been done on the timing chain, the PO confirmed this as well. I've heard that the timing chain needs to be done at 100k, but my mechanic says that it's not something I need to worry about for a while, saying he's seen over 250k on an m42 with the original timing belt. I don't believe it but I don't have any other references. I'd appreciate some help/advice. I'm quoted at $2100 for the whole timing chain and cooling system work if I wanted it done; I've found some DIY articles on timing chain replacements, and also articles on cooling system work, I also know my way around cars pretty well and I have mechanic friends; however, I feel like I would be taking a shot in the dark trying to do the work myself. Should I believe my mechanic and let it go until it hits 250k? even 200k? Should I try to do it myself? Should I get it done by the mechanic who doesn't think I need it done?
